Search

Search mechanism on the POS in Centara is enabled by applying the serach plugin to a workstation. Once the plugin has been set on a workstation, the POS receives instructions locally to load the search plugin.

The search plugin provides the possibility to search for various things using different UI components:

• Search for customers

• Search for stock products

• Search for transactions

• Search for shipping info

Enabling the search plugin

1. Navigate to Admin > Server information > Plugins and check next to "centara-search" and click Save.

2. If DBCompare is not automatically executed, then execute that manually.

3. Navigate to Setup, select the node in the workstation hierarchy on which the plugin is to be applied.

4. Click New search UI, which at this point, is a new option that should have appeared.

5. This should bring in an instance of the search plugin looking something like this:

6. Once the plugin has been added, search UI components can be applied as needed.

7. Publish the changes.

8. Since the workstation now needs an additional plugin, a new POS version will be assigned to the workstation which needs to be downloaded and applied with a restart.
