Layered discounts

Discount optimizing

The system is capable of choosing which discount is most beneficial to the customer.

Example

  1. Items A and B are in a special offer: “Buy 1 of A and 1 of B and receive 10% discount”.

  2. Items A and C are in another special offer; “Buy 1 of A and 1 of C and receive 2 EUR discount”.

The customer buys one of each, A, B and C, and can thereby get a discount on either combination but not both at the same time. The system calculates the most optimal discount for the customer.

Multiple discounts on the same item

Discounts can be created so that more than one discount can apply to a single item.

Example

Staff discount can be placed on certain items and then a Tax-free discount can apply.

Layers

All discounts are created in layer 1 by default. Each discount item can only receive one discount within each layer, thus excluding other discounts (in that layer).

By creating a discount in another layer, that layer can work on top of another one.

Example

An 8 oz. Apple cider in a “Summer splash offer”, in layer 1, can also be a part of a “weekend tax-free” offer which is in layer 3.
