System overview

Device management

Since the loyalty system cannot access individual Centara Servers directly, organizations, sites and POS are configured in a globally accessible Device web (https://devices.centara.online/manage). When stores and POS have been registered here, the Loyalty server can access them to assign to Merchants. Each POS that is intended to use loyalty must also be registered here so that Access token can be issued for each POS.

  • Organization

    • Organization is the unit that groups sites together

  • Site

    • A site can be thought of as a group of stores (the equivalent of a single Centara Server)

    • Access token for the site can be accessed from here.

  • Store

    • A store is a unit that a POS belongs to (a numeric value).

  • POS

    • An operating unit within a store (a numeric value)

Loyalty configuration

The following key elements constructs the Loyalty system.

  • Merchant

    • When a new merchant is created, the Loyalty web communicates with the Device web to make sure a merchant can only be linked to a store from a list of stores that have previously been configured there.

    • Once a merchant has been created, it's detail page can now display a list of all the POS existing for that store, so that an Access token can be created both for individual POS and also for the Merchant.

  • Merchant group

    • A newly created merchant will not be usable unless it has been added to a merchant group.

  • Series

    • Series are a bundles of instruments.

  • Instruments

    • An instrument is a unit within the Loyalty system, either a Gift card
