Centara supports attaching customer information to a transaction enabling the retailer to better understand its customer base and also for sales analysis purposes. Normally customers originate from Centara server and are replicated to the local POS database. It is possible to search within the local database for existing customers or alternatively create new customers on the POS.
The customer search dialog brings up the ability to search for existing customers. Type in text and press the Search button to list the result.
The search screen will be visible until Close button is pressed.
If the search component has be set up in that way, the Create new button will appear. Pressing that button will show an entry form for a new customer:
Populate all the required field and press OK to create the customer and attach to the current transaction.
From within the customer search dialog, pressing the Choose button selects and and associates the customer with the current sale. This is displayed at the top of the Journal window.
To remove customer information from the sale, press the Clear customer button.
From withing the customer search dialog, the detail icon can be pressed for more detailed information about the customer:
